On behalf of the Blayne Gaines Memorial Film Row Scholarship committee, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous contributions. Thanks to your support, we successfully raised $55,850 which will go directly to supporting deserving students within the film department at California State University, Northridge (CSUN).

Blayne Gaines was a passionate advocate for the film industry and a beloved member of our community.  This scholarship is a tribute to her legacy and commitment to nurturing the next generation of film professionals.  The funds raised will go towards scholarships for CSUN students pursuing careers that focus on critical aspects like audience analysis, network programming, research, distribution, operations, development, marketing, and sales. By providing these scholarships, we look to empower students to achieve their academic goals, develop their skills, and make meaningful contributions to the industry.

Thank you once again for your generosity and commitment to supporting the next generation of film industry professionals. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of many students and keeping Blayne’s legacy alive.

It is with a heavy heart that we share that Blayne (Becker) Gaines, born on September 27, 1955, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2024.

Blayne was a dynamic and accomplished woman, having built a notable career working at MGM/UA, 20th Century Fox, DreamWorks, and Paramount Pictures. Her professional achievements were matched by her vibrant personal life.  Blayne was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and a devoted friend to many.  She had a special place in her heart for her Boston Terriers, who she considered her children. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious aromas of her culinary creations. An enthusiastic cook, Blayne found joy in preparing meals for her loved ones.  Her artistic talents were evident in her beautiful paintings, which captured her creative spirit. Blayne’s sense of humor and wit brought joy to all who knew her. She had a passion for the finer things in life, including travel, wine, golf and spending time at the beach. She also enjoyed skiing, finding peace and exhilaration on the slopes.

Blayne’s legacy is one of love, creativity, and a zest for life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the beautiful moments she created. She is survived by her loving husband, Mark Gaines;  Sister, Berit Taggert; Brother, Burton Becker; Niece Morgan Taggert; and Nephew Zack Taggert.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 4pm at Memorial Park Funeral Homes in Braselton, GA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the
